Martek Lifecare’s Rob Higgie Appointed BHTA Director

Published on 20th December 2024

Martek Lifecare is delighted to announce that Rob Higgie, a seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience in the First Aid sector, has been appointed as a voluntary director of the British Health Trades Association (BHTA).

The BHTA, a historic organisation whose roots date back to World War I, has evolved to become a vital advocate for the healthcare industry. The association provides essential support and guidance to its members and lobbies the government for the benefit of patients and healthcare professionals.

Rob’s extensive experience in First Aid, particularly in defibrillation, aligns perfectly with the BHTA’s mission. His dedication to improving patient care is evident in his volunteer work as a Community First Responder for the Yorkshire Ambulance Service, where he responds to life-threatening emergencies every week.

Rob was instrumental in helping to set up the BHTA’s campaign to “Scrap the Heart Restart Tax,” which aims to remove VAT on the sale of defibrillators, making life-saving equipment more accessible for every community.

We are incredibly proud to have Rob on our team, and we’re confident that his expertise and commitment will contribute significantly to the BHTA’s ongoing efforts to improve healthcare in the UK.
