AED batteries are classed as WEEE (Waste Electrical or Electronic Equipment) and should be properly disposed of according to Waste Battery Regulations. The most environmentally friendly option is to send used defibrillator batteries to be recycled. You’ll find collection points and services throughout the UK for used battery recycling – check that your old batteries are compatible first. They’ll be processed at a specialist plant, and the parts will be repurposed where possible. Other waste products will be safely and responsibly disposed of according to regulations.
