The Lifeline AUTO works out whether a shock is needed and then automatically delivers. It also has a built-in CPR metronome to help make CPR easy and efficient. The Lifeline AUTO performs self-tests on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to make sure the defibrillator is always rescue ready. With no moving parts, the AUTO is incredibly easy and safe to use without delay.

The Lifeline Auto defibrillator is a one-button defibrillator that analyses the heart rhythm and will automatically deliver shocks without intervention. It features clear voice instructions to help with the entire process from how to position the pads to when to perform CPR between shocks. This AED has been designed by physicians so that ANYONE can save a life. In a study by the University of Illinois involving 5 market-leading AEDs, participants were able to deliver a defibrillation shock with the Lifeline AED quicker and more successfully than any of the other AEDs tested. This defibrillator really can be used by anyone.

The Lifeline AED and AUTO AEDs are designed to help victims of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA), including those who are:
• Unconscious and unresponsive
• Not breathing or not breathing normally
The Lifeline models are compatible with our range of adult defibrillation pads (model DDP-100 & DDU-120) for patients eight years older or over 55 lbs (4 stone). If younger children under this weight limit, you can also use the specialised paediatric defibrillation pads (model number DDP-200P) if available.
It is not recommended to use a Lifeline AED if the individual has responded or regained consciousness.
There is a selection of complications that may arise with AED treatment. Several of these are:
• Failure to identify shockable arrhythmia.
• Not administering a defibrillation shock in the presence of VF (ventricular fibrillation) or pulseless VT (ventricular tachycardia) can have devastating consequences, potentially leading to fatality or permanent damage.
• Defibrillation or post-shock dysfunction can occur due to improper energy levels.
• Myocardial damage.
• Fire hazard in the presence of high oxygen concentration or flammable anaesthetic agents.
• The incorrect administration of a pulse-sustaining rhythm may lead to ventricular fibrillation or even cardiac arrest.
• Bystander shock from patient contact during defibrillation shock.
• Interaction with pacemakers.
• Skin burns around the defibrillation pads placement area.
• Suffering from allergic dermatitis due to an adverse reaction to the materials used to manufacture defibrillation pads.
• Possible fire or explosion. Do not use the AED in the presence of flammable gases or anaesthetics. Exercise caution when near oxygen sources (e.g., bag-valve-mask apparatuses or ventilator tubes). If necessary, switch off the gas source or move it away from the patient during defibrillation.
• Improper maintenance can cause the Lifeline Series of AEDs not to function. Maintain the devices following instructions found in the user manual and operating guide. Warning, the AED is not designed to be taken apart and contains no parts that users can service. Do not attempt to disassemble the device.
• For optimal performance, only open the sealed pads package before you use them. If left open for too long, the pads may become dry and unable to function correctly.
• To ensure the safety of both patient and operator, do NOT touch the patient during defibrillation. A shocking current may cause serious injury or harm to anyone nearby.
• Single-use defibrillation pads are intended for one application and must be discarded after use. Reusing these devices can lead to cross-infection, improper performance of the device, inadequate therapy delivery, or injury to either the patient or operator.
• If CPR is incorrectly administered during analysis, it can lead to incorrect or delayed diagnosis from the patient assessment system.
• The DDU-100 Series AED is equipped with both manual and automated tests to ensure optimal readiness for use. However, these tests cannot guarantee performance or detect abuse, damage, or other unexpected issues that may arise after the last test has been completed.
• Even if an AED is used, the patient is not guaranteed to survive.
• To ensure your safety, always adhere to the instructions on battery pack labels. Furthermore, be sure not to install any expired batteries.
• Be sure to adhere to the directions on all defibrillation pad labels and always use pads that have not expired.
• To guarantee optimal performance, the DDU-100 Series AED must only be used and stored in an environment that meets all of the requirements set out in its technical specifications.
• Do not spend additional time determining an exact age or weight. If paediatric pads are unavailable, apply adult pads as depicted for infants and children while using the AED.
